Per The Dictionary of Cliches, to whistle in the dark means to "be cheerful or optimistic in a situation that doesn't warrant cheer or optimism."

An HP character is putting on a cheerful demeanor in the face of daunting circumstances. Which character and what circumstances is all up to you.

One HP character is spending the day in a completely unfamiliar place. Is it a Pureblood in the Muggle world? A character on holiday? Someone visiting a distant relative? Who's involved and what happens is all up to you.

People wish on stars, birthday candles, eyelashes blown off fingertips.  There are any number of things that can prompt a wish, and in this challenge, one character makes a wish and another character grants it.

Who's involved, what the wish entails, and whether or not the outcome is what the characters expected is all up to you.

While looking at a wizarding photograph, one HP character looks past the primary focus of the photograph and sees something startling in the background. Who's involved and what they see is all up to you.

One HP character is kidnapped by another character. Are the motives nefarious? Romantic? Protective?

The reasons and the characters involved are all up to you.

Everyone has their secrets...even, perhaps especially, HP characters. So what does someone do when no one else is watching? ;)

The media usually emphasizes a sex scandal whenever possible because - like it or not - sex sells. In that spirit, a shocking sex scandal has just landed on the front page of the Daily Prophet. Who's involved, how the scandal was discovered, and any repercussions are all up to you.
